It has been discovered that one of Scotland’s finest policemen has claimed almost a total of £6000 for new carpets and
made to measure curtains for his new home.
Chief Constable Stephen House submitted the bills at a time when his Metropolitan Force are more than £34million in debt.
It is reported that the claim came after the policeman bought a new house for his wife and children on the outskirts of Glasgow after a spell in rented accommodation, during relocation for his new highly paid position in the Scottish Force. House then proceeded to
buy curtains and expensive carpets and gave the bill to the Authorities.
Members of Strathclyde Police has confirmed the £6000 carpet and curtains claim, however they have not commented on whether any disciplinary action will be taken.
